Southerners have finally secured a ground

Craig's fledgling cricket team in the Mid-Week Cricket Association, the Southerners have finally got a home. The Ian Johnson Oval (also known as Marlee's Oval) next to the St Kilda Park primary school at the bottom end of Albert Park Lake will be their home ground.
It has been a suprisingly hard thing to achieve, getting an oval to play on. What with political wranglings between clubs and councils, snobbish attitudes towards anything but first class cricket teams, and water restrictions have all contributed to the last minute scramble to secure a ground. But alas, now the Southerners can start the process of establishment: getting players, acquiring equipment, setting up websites, embroidering baggy caps... all this with the first match on November 15th.

Three Years On...

Our wedding anniversary. Three years have flown by.
I named a star for our anniversary; selfishly it's "CRAIGLYNIS-2003".
Its in the constellation of Reticulum also known as The Net. Seeing as we met via the 'net I thought it would be appropriate. Its catalogued by the Sydney Observatory, and its real name is 700877.
Anyway, it is ideally viewed on January 3rd at 10pm, and will be almost directly overhead. Luckily we get a star map so we know where to look. We also have two passes to the Sydney Observatory to view our star, which we'll have to organise.
In the meantime, we'll be going away for a belated anniversary trip to Bedarra Island in November; also our last holiday together before the cricket season begins in earnest. Then I will be the cricket widow!

Mum's Plaque at Lilydale

Mum's plaque was installed at Lilydale Memorial Park. The single red rose was placed there by Dad.

We also visited Ezzy's spot. It was the first time Marlee has met Ezra.
