Cabrini Hospital Memorial

The hospital that Mum was being treated at last year held a memorial service to remember those who they had looked after and had since passed. It was a nice and short occasion with a lovely supper afterwards.

Back in the game

Meet "Flip", Craig and Cameron's new interest. He is not a pacer, but a trotter! And he'll be homed at a trainer that is less than an hour away (as opposed to 3.5hrs away). So we can keep tabs on him much more easily; I'm sure we'll be visiting him quite often. He is a one year old colt, and whether he will remain a colt will depend on how he behaves. At the moment, he is very feisty and has no qualms about lining you up for a good kick! But he sure is handsome!

More bowls...

In our attempt to convert everyone to bowls, we took Dad for a roll at the St Kilda Bowls Club.
I think he really enjoyed it and he did really well! Dad and I teamed up against Craig and Alex, and the Teo's came up victorious. Here is the scoreboard:

Movies in the Botanical Gardens

We went to the Moonlight Cinema at the Botanical Gardens with Alex to watch The Motorcycle Diaries, a movie about a motorcycle trip Che Guevara took that explains his revolutionary ideas. Quite a good movie. For someone who didn't know much about Che I got a lot of insight into his way of thinking.
We took the Gold Grass option which included a glass of bubbly and a bean bag to sit on.

Gone Fishing...

For Bill's 36th birthday, we all went fishing in Western Port Bay. A great day was had by all, everyone caught some fish, and no one got sea sick!
A lot of fresh caught fish was eaten that night, I know we did! Oven baked snapper and pan fried whiting fillets and flathead. Yum!

Lovely day for bowls...

Craig and I, Gav and Erna, and Alex went for a roll on a gorgeous summer's day. It was the novices (C&G) vs the beginners GE&A). I'm afraid the home side lost by 6, but the beginners did have a four bowl advantage. We had amazing brilliance, coupled with absolute rubbish shots; moments of genius and ridicule. Good fun was had by all.
