Southerners beat Northerners in rivalry round

And it was the Southerners last home game at Ian Johnson Oval (aka Marlee's Oval). Now its a break for Christmas before resuming again in late January 2007 for 5 more games.
People often ask what level of cricket is played in the Mid-Week Cricket competition. Well they're not playing for sheep stations, but the level of commitment is high.
Take for example Pat Scala:

He copped one in the forehead during his batting stint. He walked off to clean up the wound and to take some panadol. Then continued batting. Then in the second innings, he bowled 8 overs. What a trooper! Now that's commitment.
